Cheryl M. is a student who joins us at the Spirit of Huntington Art Center from AHRC Bohemia. Cheryl was inspired by Claude Monet, a French painter and the founder of impressionism. Monet is seen as a key precursor to modernism, especially in his attempts to paint nature as he perceived it. The visible strokes in Cheryl’s artwork are reminiscent of the Monet’s style.
